World Health Organization defines health as ‘‘a state of physical, mental, social and spiritual well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity’’. Yoga is an ancient way to achieve health in physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual dimensions of the individual. It is a branch of Indian philosophy and the word “Yoga” comes from the Sanskrit root “yuj” that means to yoke or to unite, referring to the union of the body, mind and spirit.
Its goal is to calm the restless mind to reduce stress and promote positive health, self-awareness, and spirituality.
